Get in touch

Hello, I’m Eleanor. If you’ve spent any time here, you’ll know Everyday Cooking Chronicle isn’t about showstopping dinner parties or complicated techniques. It’s about the quiet, slightly chaotic reality of cooking in a British kitchen — the one with limited worktop space, a fridge that always seems too small, and a budget that doesn’t stretch to fancy ingredients. I started this site as a way to make sense of my own weeknight cooking, and it’s grown into something far more meaningful because of the readers who show up, try a recipe, and sometimes even send a note afterwards.

I’d genuinely love to hear from you. Whether you’ve tweaked a recipe to use what was left in the veg drawer, have a question about swapping an ingredient you can’t find at your local supermarket, or simply want to say hello — your messages are the best part of my day. This isn’t a faceless website; it’s a conversation between home cooks who are all just trying to get something decent on the table without losing the will to live.

How to reach me

You can email directly at [email protected]. I read every single message, though I ask for a little patience — between school runs, recipe testing, and the never-ending pile of washing up, it might take me a few days to reply. If your note is about a specific recipe, mentioning the title in the subject line helps me find it quickly.

I’m also around on social media, where I share behind-the-scenes snippets, seasonal finds from the greengrocer, and the occasional kitchen disaster that doesn’t make it onto the site. You can find me on Instagram as @everydaycookingchronicle and on Facebook at /everydaycookingchronicle. I tend to reply faster to DMs there, especially if it’s a quick cooking question.

A few reasons you might get in touch

  • You’ve made a recipe and want to share how it turned out — the wins, the substitutions, the bits you’d do differently next time.
  • You’re stuck on an ingredient swap and need a suggestion that works with what’s in your cupboard.
  • You have a recipe request — perhaps a family favourite you’d love to see adapted for a smaller household or a tighter budget.
  • You’ve spotted a seasonal ingredient at the market and aren’t sure what to do with it.
  • You’d like to collaborate, contribute a reader story, or suggest a topic for a future kitchen guide.
  • Something on the site isn’t working properly, or a recipe instruction seems unclear.

Everyday cooking can feel lonely sometimes, especially when you’re staring down a pile of washing up and wondering if anyone else finds this as hard as you do. Please know that you’re not alone. I’m here, probably in my slippers, probably with a cup of tea going cold beside me, and I’d be glad to hear from you.
